Safe Building 101: Creating a Climate-Controlled Space In Your Home

As I started to increase my art collection, I wanted to make sure that my investment was protected. I wasn't sure exactly how to store it all when it wasn't on display, but I knew I needed to do something. I decided to talk with a local construction contractor about how to secure my art, and he suggested a climate-controlled secure room in my home. They built a vault-like space in the house that is perfect for long-term storage. I created this site to showcase what was done in the hopes that others may seek the same solution. I hope the information here helps you to secure your financial investment as well.

4 Choices To Make When You Have Custom Windows Made For Your Home

You have lots of options when it comes to replacement windows. When you have custom windows made for your home, you are able to choose each element of the window, from the type of material the frame is made out of, to the color of the frame and the type of glass that is used.

Choice #1: Window Frame Material

First, you need to determine what type of window frame material you want for your windows. Vinyl is one of the most popular window frame materials because it doesn't really warp or get damaged. Wood is a great classic choice, as it looks really nice, but it does require more maintenance than other types of window frame materials.

Choice #2: Window Frame Finish

Second, you need to choose what type of window frame finish you want on the window frame. If you have a vinyl window frame, you can choose different finishes on the inside and outside of your window. You can even choose a woodgrain looking option, so you can have different styles on both the inside and outside of your home. For example, you could have a unique deep green on the outside of your home that matches with the outside paint colors, and you could go for a woodgrain finish on the inside of your home that matches with the rest of your home.

Choice #3: Window Frame Style

Third, you can change the window frame style. You can have a straight-style window frame, or you can go with something more ornate and detailed on the window frame. If you want to have a fancy look inside of your home, you can have a more detailed and pretty wood grain look.

Choice #4: Glass

Fourth, you are going to need to choose what type of glass you want to put inside of the window frame. There are so many different ways that you can customize the glass. You can install impact-resistant glass, which is great if you live somewhere that is prone to hurricanes. Or you could put in laminated glass that will stay together if you break the glass. Or you can install low-e glass that will reduce the amount of infrared and ultraviolet light that comes through the glass.

Choice #5: Screen

Finally, you can choose what type of screen you want to install, as there are different types of window mesh you can use on your screen for your window.

When it comes to having custom windows built for your home, you get to do more than just choose the size of the window. You get to choose the material used to frame the window and the appearance of the window frame on the inside and outside of your home. You also get to choose the type of glass that is used in the window, as well as the type of screen that is used if the window requires a screen. Getting custom windows is all about having choices.
